Walking along the beach on the Isle of Arran, one of many”bracing Scottish walks” (blown along in force ten gale with driving rain.Extreme and funny all at the same time) I found a bone and put it on my finger. At the end of the afternoon, heading back tothe house and warmth, I realised it was still there and so comfortable; unlike my fingers which felt like they had frozen off. There was something about the fact that it came from another mammal that seemed to make it fit? In the morning I decided to cast it in silver. For years people have admired it; men and women.  Something about science, metal and the ergonomics of it's structure; but it only fit if you were a size K. The Zoology Museum in Cambridge told me it was the vertebrae from a common porpoise. Then came 3D printing…
